Rebel Wolves, the recently assembled Polish studio that’s being spearheaded by ex-CD Projekt Red developers, has revealed the name of its first game: Dawnwalker. It sounds a bit like a Final Fantasy 14 expansion, doesn’t it? We’ve got a nice piece of promotional art to go with the name drop, and it’s definitely giving us vampire vibes. Or werewolves. We’ll have to wait and see.
The title, which has been confirmed to be a dark fantasy RPG — no surprise given the talent — is now in its alpha phase. However, it’s hard to say just how far out Dawnwalker actually is; we’re yet to really learn anything about the scope of the project, and it’ll probably be a while until we get any concrete details.
Still, there are reasons to keep an eye on this one. Case in point, Rebel Wolves just announced the hiring of Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz as the game’s creative director. Previously, Tomaszkiewicz was a lead quest designer on The Witcher 3, and helped shape quests in Cyberpunk 2077 and its expansion, Phantom Liberty. He was also game director on the great but overlooked Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales.
